Elevators are a safe mode of transportation. However, like all other mechanical devices, they do malfunction.
What to do if you are in an elevator emergency:
- REMAIN CALM
- Press the "Emergency" button located on the control panel inside the cab
- DO NOT try to force the elevator doors open
Push the "Emergency Phone" button located inside the phone compartment in the cab. This action will automatically connect you to the monitoring company who will alert the Building Engineer, Elevator Service Company and/or Property Manager. Assistance will arrive as soon as possible.
